Crossing Frontiers

The exhibition “Crossing Frontiers” brings together works by six boundary-breaking contemporary Chinese artists who have witnessed the rapid transformations affecting Chinese society first-hand and have also been exposed to major international geopolitical events. They represent a new generation of Chinese artists, deeply connected with their culture but also genuinely engaged with the wider Asian and Western art worlds. Using their artistic voice to create intimate, yet intricate paintings that emphasize their spiritual values and explore their Chinese cultural identity in its broadest sense, they have masterfully developed their painterly practice and firmly secured their positions in the international scene.
