Micha’el Liani (b. 1987, Migdal HaEmek, Israel) is an Israeli artist, photographer, director, and lecturer based in Tel Aviv. Working from an intimate and deeply personal perspective, his practice explores themes of centrality and periphery, as well as gender and media aesthetics, through photography and installation that seek to reveal the humanity of his subjects. Liani’s work has been exhibited at the UCLA Biennale; the Moscow International Biennale for Young Art; Hansen House, Jerusalem; and the Herzliya Museum of Contemporary Art, among other institutions.
